Pull Up a Chair!

At Button & Spoon we also believe that there are few pleasures in life greater than sharing good food with great people. A hot drink on a cold day, a crisp fresh summer salad or a sumptuous slice of cake with a friend is food for the soul. Life is so fast, so demanding and erratic that sometimes we need to take a break. We need to catch our breaths, catch up with those people who matter or just simply devote a little time to ourselves!

Making it Fresh

We bake our own brown breads daily; both high fibre multi-seed loaves and traditional brown soda. Our cakes have become a major talking point and our counter is adorned with a large selection, baked fresh every single day in our little kitchen. We pride ourselves on trying to support as many local producers as possible and we also carry a range of wonderful Gluten Free and Dairy Free cakes from Eileen O'Flaherty, fresh and smoked fish from Meylers Fish Merchants.

Wake Up & Smell Our Coffee!

All our coffee is Fair Trade, Organic and Rain Forest Alliance Certified and has been ethically sourced using years of experience and a solid working relationship with the coffee farmers. The very finest coffee beans are selected for hand-roasting and that is what makes your cup of coffee here taste so good! We have also been told that the grinds make wonderful fertiliser so we never throw them away, if you would like some please just ask us when you are paying your bill.

Our Story

Our tearoom have been a long time in the making, like a good cup of tea it has needed time to draw. It started from our desire to build the kind of place we wanted to eat in; from there and over the last three years, we have nurtured the concept and watched it grow. We filled our home and our lives with all sorts of bits and pieces for “the business”, we tested dishes and haggled with market stall holders for tea sets and we drove our family and friends mad. But every piece has been picked with care, passion and a love for what we are doing. We are also passionately determined to hire nice people to work with and we have been exceptionally lucky to have found some of the nicest people around.

It’s been an adventure and while “the business” is ours the journey it will take will be very much driven by you. We hope you enjoy your visit and we always appreciate your opinions, suggestions and we love to have the chat!
